Resumo

Os últimos anos foram caracterizados por um aumento substancial na quantidade de análises filogenéticas em anuros, impulsionado principalmente pela grande produção de sequências de DNA. Hyloidea, um grupo que contém mais da metade dos anfíbios viventes, foi foco de um grande número de estudos densamente amostrados. Estes trabalhos resultaram em filogenias razoavelmente resolvidas a todos os níveis, ainda que em sua maioria carentes de sinapomorfías morfológicas. Por sua vez, os resultados destas análises recuperaram consistentemente alguns grupos de Hyloidea, enquanto que os nodos mais basais necessitam de suporte e mudam de composição nos distintos trabalhos. A solução deste problema requer a inclusão de uma quantidade substancial de evidência. Neste projeto serão sequenciados os genes faltantes para os terminais críticos, sendo incorporado um novo conjunto de genes nucleares para entre 250 e 300 terminais, com o objetivo de resolver a base de Hyloidea. Desta maneira, se espera, mediante uma análise filogenética simultânea de dados genotípicos e fenotípicos, obter uma hipótese filogenética robusta e com numerosas sinapomorfías morfológicas, não disponíveis para a maioria dos grupos.
