Resumo

The main topic of the lectures will be Formation and Evolution of Galaxies, divided in four different courses (of 5 lectures of 75 minutes each), given by four worldly known experts in each of their respective fields: Gustavo Bruzual (Stellar Populations in Galaxies), Francesca Matteucci (Chemical Evolution of Galaxies), Joseph Silk (Formation and Evolution of Galaxies), and Piero Madau (Simulating Galaxies). The event will be five days long, with four lectures per day, each with a different subject. Between the two courses in the morning and in the afternoon there will be an interval of 45 minutes, during which the students will be able to interact with the invited professors and among themselves.
