Resumo

The aim of this visit is to start collaborative work between the four participants. The activities will be: (i) Work on proposed research plan Modelling Ecological Zero-inflated Data. (B) Give the seminar "Modelling species abundance Código de campo alterado retabon to habitat: Alternatives to traditional regression methods". The proposed work entails the analysis of a specific set for abundance (counts) of the slimy sculpin, Cottus cognatus, a fish species that is common in small rivers of east Canada. The data have a hierarchical spatial structure; the basic sampling units are 600 short stream sections, within 120 sites that are in tum nested within 31 streams. For each section, fish counts, measurements of 12 habitat variables, and the surface area sampled in the section, are available. The distribution of counts is highly over-dispersed and zeros are over-represented, with nearly 10% of the sampling units having zero counts. (AU)
