Resumo

Development of microstructural fibers (MF) is a main goal of this project because of importance of new advanced solutions in contemporary fiber optics and technology. This proposal will be directly concerned with the development of technology of preparation of microstructured fibers (MF) and photonic crystal fibers (PCF) for middle infrared spectral region (2-10 mkm). Optical fibers for this spectral region are exclusively interesting for military and space applications, medical and biological purposes and for monitoring of surrounding atmosphere. High pure chalcogenide glasses, such as As-S, Ge-S and Ge-Se will be used as the the most promising candidates for the producing of microstructured and photonic crystal fibers. (AU)
