Resumo

The idea of the symposium is to bring some 60 to 70 relative young engineers that have excelled in their fields to spend about 3 days discussing the future developments of their areas of activity in industry and research. This is a very important and distinct point of the present iniciative. The key idea of the symposium is to have 16 keynotes on the 4 chosen topics followed by dense discussions on the state of the art of the engineering topics, and also by opening room for further discussions through poster presentation sessions. An analysis of the Program, enclosed in this project will show that there are three main kind of activities taking place in the symposium. The first king of activity are the 16 key lectures performed by the invited speakers. The second group of activities is concentratd in the specialized discussions that will take place after the presentations. The schedule allows time to deepen the technical discussions. The third block consists of the Poster Presentations. The posters will be in permanent exposition throughout the event, but there are two specific points in the program in which all participants should visit and discuss the displayed posters. It should also be mentioned that there is time for parallel discussions and networking among the participants, something that is recognized as essential in a conference or symposium. (AU)
