Resumo

From the corpus of Augustan poetry, our focus will be on how the reactions or affections triggered on the synchronic audience can either add to or subtract something from a poetic genre, and reveal some of its hidden features.Several studies on poetic genres have been carried out since the first quarter of 20 century, proposing numerous possibilities of philological approach and analysis, but we believe that there is still a lot to be "digested" concerningAugustan poetry. By promoting this event in Brazil, we hope to offer our contribution providing revaluations and discussions of new trends, and adding new perspectives to the contemporary status quaestionis of poetic genres in Classical Antiquity.
