País de origem: Brasil

Researcher affiliated with the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil. Former postdoctoral researcher at the Stem Cell Institute, Department of Medicine, University of Minnesota (USA), and at the Department of Biochemistry, Institute of Chemistry, University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil. Holds a Ph.D. in Physiology from the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, USP. Recipient of a FAPESP doctoral fellowship (Process No. 11/06815-0) and a FAPESP postdoctoral fellowship (Process No. 16/18633-8). Currently holds a Visiting Researcher Fellowship funded by CNPq (Process No. 351286/2025-0) at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil. Active member of the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB), and the American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB). Serves as a peer reviewer for journals including Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, Frontiers in Physiology, Frontiers in Pharmacology, Life Sciences, Redox Biology, European Journal of Applied Physiology, and The Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, as well as for funding agencies such as FAPESP. Recipient of awards from the International Union of Pure and Applied Biophysics (IUPABSBBqSBBf) in São Paulo, Brazil, and from the Society for Redox Biology and Medicine (SfRBM) in Las Vegas, USA. Currently serves on the editorial boards of Frontiers in Physiology (Striated Muscle Physiology) and Frontiers in Pharmacology (Integrative and Regenerative Pharmacology), high-impact, internationally recognized journals from the Frontiers portfolio, ranked among the most cited in their respective fields. Expertise focuses on muscle stem cells and muscle regeneration, with a strong emphasis on mitochondrial metabolism as a central regulator of stem cell function, tissue repair, and regenerative medicine strategies. This work integrates cellular and molecular approaches to investigate how metabolic remodeling influences muscle stem cell fate, regenerative outcomes, and muscle adaptation in health, aging, and disease.
