Edward Flórez Pacheco

Currently, Researcher I at the Department of Radiology, University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) Jackson, Mississippi. Graduated in Electronic Engineering from Pontifical Catholic University of Peru in 2005. Received the M.Sc. degree and the Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering (Medical Image Processing Laboratory) from the School of Engineering of the University of Sao Paulo - Brazil, in 2012 and 2016, respectively. The last two years, I made an Interuniversity exchange during the PhD course at the Department of Radiology, UMMC, USA where I participated in many medical projects with different medical image modalities (MRI, CT, PET/CT and so on). Indeed, I developed some medical tools as segmentation algorithms, filters, and algorithms to quantify the metabolism. I have acquired wide experience in the use and application of softwares that were patented by the Department of Radiology such as Liver Surface Nodularity (LSU) software used in Liver CT images, Stroke Color Enhancement software used in Head CT images, eMASS software used in the assessment of Tumor response in CT and MRI images, and others. In 2010, I specialized in Development of Embedded Systems (dsPIC) at Advanced Vision Business Technologies. In 2008, I obtained a certification in Project Management at the Postgraduate School of the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC). I have work experience in Clinical Research (Medical Imaging in Radiology), Biostatistics analysis, Instrumentation, Automation and Control Engineering, Cost Engineering, Electrical and Electronic circuits, Imaging and Signal processing, Monte Carlo simulation, and Programming.
