País de origem: Brasil

Graduated in chemistry from the University Of Bahia (UFBA). In 2014, he obtained his master degree working on enantioselective Heck-Matsuda arylations under the supervision of Prof. Carlos Roque Duarte Correia at the University Of Campinas (UNICAMP). In 2015, he joined the Chemistry PhD program at Heidelberg University, under the supervision of Prof. A. Stephen K. Hashmi. There, he developed his thesis working on Gold-catalyzed synthetic methods, having a special focus on the synthesis and reactivity of allenes, as well as on the synthesis of non-conjugated polyaromatic hydrocarbons. Also during his PhD, Danilo studied reactivity modes of Au(I) and Au(III) organometallic compounds, under the supervision of Prof. Andreas Dreuw (Group of Theoretical and Computational Chemistry, IWR, Heidelberg). In 2019, he joined the group of Prof. Paolo Melchiorre as a post-doctoral researcher working on organo- and photocatalyzed conjugated addition of radicals to enals. Since 2020, he investigates the use of statistics and machine learning tools for the development of reactions and mechanistic elucidation in the group of Prof. Anat Milo, in the Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Israel.
