With this overview article we celebrate the 10th anniversary of easy ambient sonic-spray ionization mass spectrometry (EASI-MS). We will discuss aspects of the technical development of this technique and show how in the past decade, this simple but efficient ambient ionization technique has found its way into many (bio)analytical applications such as in forensic, fuel and food analysis.
