Resumo

Blends using raw materials from industrial waste were molded. As thermoplastic matrix was used recycled polypropylene (PP), a type of residue containing thermosetting powder from high-pressure laminate (HPL) was used as filler and epoxidized soybean oil (ESO) was also utilized. In order to evaluate the mechanical and thermal properties were performed tensile, flexural, Charpy impact tests, softening point temperature (Vicat), heat deflection temperature (HDT), dynamic-mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Characterization analyzes as density and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were also performed. The filler HPL showed good dispersion in the recycled PP matrix and the density already increased from adding 10% of HPL. The tensile and flexural strengths decreased with the addition of the HPL which also caused increase in the heat deflection temperature and decrease the tenacity of the PP matrix. The values of tensile and flexural modulus increased with the addition of 40% HPL. The storage modulus obtained by DMTA improved with the addition of filler, especially the composite containing 40% HPL. The degree of crystallinity also increased with increasing amount of HPL. In general, the use of HPL as reinforcing filler in blends is feasible and can be used for example in the manufacture of supermarket box, pallets, chairs, internal coating of vehicles and among others.
