Resumo

Algorithms-aided design is presented as a tool to create modular visual scripts for g-code generation for hybrid manufacturing. Tool-paths were planned from the geometrical data; scripts were developed to perform operations since the input 3D file is read until the final g-code is generated. The modules include additive and subtractive manufacturing operations. The proposed modular scripts were used to create hybrid g-codes, which were simulated by computer-aided manufacturing open-source software. This methodology is promising for the hybrid process that combines Directed Energy Deposition (DED) and Machining. DED requires finishing operations in practically 100% of the fabricated parts.
