Resumo

This paper proposes the application of robust model predictive control designed via linear matrix inequalities with infinite prediction horizon in the online and offline modes to damp low-frequency electromechanical oscillations and ensure the stability of a single machine infinite bus system modeled using the current sensitivity model. In the simulations performed, an exogenous disturbance in the form of an increase in the mechanical input power on the shaft of the synchronous generator was considered. Moreover, variations in the power demand of the load were also taken into account. With the implemented adjustments, comparisons were performed using graphical analyses of the time response and non-intrusive performance indices. From the obtained results, it was possible to conclude that the application of the proposed control strategy was effective for both simulated modes, with emphasis on the offline mode, which proved to be more efficient than the online mode for this application.
