Resumo

This paper presents a proposal of optimization procedure to improve the switched reluctance generator (SRG) performance in stand-alone wind systems. The proposed optimization aims to obtain a tradeoff between efficiency and torque ripple throughout an offline selection of the SRG firing angles and excitation voltage. Design of computational experiments are conducted to obtain the optimal parameters, thereby reducing the computational burden. In the stand-alone operation, the SRG wind turbine supplies the load voltage; thus, the optimal SRG excitation voltage is controlled by the SRG drive, while a boost converter regulates the load voltage requirements. Due to load variations, different optimal set of parameters are encountered depending upon the power being supplied by the SRG. Therefore, a multiple set of SRG optimal parameters are identified based on the load power consumption. Simulation results are shown to demonstrate the viability of the proposal. (AU)
