Resumo

Herein we report the evaluation of selectivity of previously developed chemical sensors based on molecularly imprinted polymers (MIP) and quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) to detect isoborneol (ISO) in aqueous samples. They exhibited high specificity when aqueous samples tainted with interfering molecules, namely 2-methylisoborneol (MIB) and camphor, were analyzed. MIP response for ISO (4 mM) was 2 times higher than for MIB (4 mM) and 4 times higher than for camphor (4 mM). Their response scales linearly with isoborneol concentration and exhibits sensitivity of -245.26 Hz mM(-1) cm(-2) at the active area, with a gradient of -47 Hz mM(-1). Moreover, MIP based sensor theoretical detection limit (LoD) is 0.52 mM. (AU)
