Resumo

Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) are sophisticated devices, whose detailed dynamic behavior requires several states and parameters to be modeled. This reality constitutes a major challenge in transient stability studies, as the detailed modeling of a wind farm for dynamic studies demands an extensive computational effort. In this context, several efforts have been conducted in the development of generic WTGs models suitable for transient stability studies. The main contribution of this paper is to present different functionalities of Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) Second Generation Generic Models implemented in the Power System Toolbox (PST). Transient stability analysis through nonlinear simulation are performed using Type-3 and Type-4 WTGs models. (AU)
