Resumo

The present work discusses an efficient use of a high-order spectral difference (SD) method for the simulation of compressible flows. Flows of interest are assumed to be adequately modeled by the two-dimensional Euler equations. The use of a quasi-Newton strategy for accelerating the convergence of fixed-point iterations is analyzed. For that, a classical secant update is considered. Validation test cases for high-order curved geometry representations for several orders of accuracy of the SD method are addressed in order to demonstrate the capability implemented. Moreover, the results in the paper demonstrate that the quasi-Newton acceleration is an interesting tool to improve the performance of numerical methods based on the fixed-point paradigm. (AU)
