Resumo

The botanical origin of honey, as determined through melissopalynological analysis, provides indirect indication of the nectariferous and polleniferous plant species exploited by foraging bees. This study aims to identify the pollen types present in the honey of Melipona quadrifasciata anthidioides bees. The colonies were located in Parque Estadual das Fontes do Ipiranga (PEFI) S & atilde;o Paulo (SP), Brazil. Monthly honey collection took place in two colonies between January and September 2018, and from October to December 2019. Palynological preparation followed the Classic European Method, without acetolysis. In addition to foraging on Eucalyptus (an exotic species), which indicates its abundance in the PEFI areas, the bees also collected nectar from several native species, mainly Alchornea, Anadenanthera, Andira/Dalbergia/Machaerium, Arrabidaea/Lundia, Baccharis, Distimake macrocalyx, Piptadenia gonoacantha, Scoparia, Serjania, Sloanea, Vernonia and Zornia. These plant species are part of the nectar diet of the bees studied. (AU)
