(EN) The present invention relates to a process for synthesizing cross-linked polyester from the curing reaction of atoxic epoxidized plant oils, cross-linked polyester produced by said process and use thereof in the medical field, particularly for tissue engineering. To this end, non-toxic comonomers were used in the formulation and without the use of initiators and/or catalysts, making the material atoxic. Said epoxide resin with a toxic agent-free history was subsequently cured in the presence of citric acid, which was chosen as the curing agent due to its non-toxic nature. The curing reaction of epoxidized castor bean oil and citric acid allowed a cross-linked polyester to be produced from a formulation that is free of catalysts and/or initiators and toxic comonomers.
