Resumo

The Childhood Leukemia International Consortium (CLIC) Experience and New Perspectives for Collaborative Studies: This open session will introduce CLIC and all of its past, current, and future activities to the São Paulo academic and research communities. This session will also allow for discussion from all members and meeting participants on how we can translate research quantitatively as well as disseminate research effectively to all stakeholders New Iniciatives: CLIC's newest research initiatives includes expanding its research portfolio to include other childhood cancers, especially childhood brain tumors. Presentations in this working session will highlight current knowledge of some of different cancers and gaps where CLIC can contribute. Cancers of brain and central nervous system; Lymphoma; Rhabomyosarcoma; Neuroblastoma; Wilms tumor; Bone cancer; Gonadal germ cell tumorsChallenging Ideas: Will highlight some of the challenges from current and new CLIC projects. Meta-analysis of childhood ALL genome-wide association studies; Down syndrome; Family history of cancer; Exposure to radiation; Maternal dietNew Ideas: Will highlight some of the new ideas proposed within the Consortium on risk of childhood leukemia. Birth defects; Placental characteristicsUpdates: Will provide current CLIC projects to report on their progress and raise any topics or issues for discussion. Caesarean birth; Living on or visiting a farm, Contact with animals; Maternal coffee and tea consumption; Benzene-related home exposures; Measures of fetal growthCollaborative Ideas: Will highlight the collaboration between different proposed projects within the Consortium. Occupation; Birth characteristics; Infection and immunityMethods: Will highlight some of the challenges from current and new CLIC projects along with potential new members.
