Resumo

Este projeto consiste em uma proposta de ponta na análise da biodiversidade amazônica, incluindo-se: estudos multidisciplinares enfocando sedimentologia, estratigrafia, datação C14, isótopos de C, luminescência térmica, palinologia, filogenia molecular de grupos faunísticos selecionados por serem bons indicadores ambientais, e mapeamento florístico, com o objetivo de possibilitar o levantamento de um grande volume de informações, que possibilitarão reconstituir a evolução dos sistemas deposicionais e analisar a influência de fatores geológicos, tanto no surgimento de espécies chaves através do tempo, quanto nos padrões de sua distribuição atual.
