Resumo

Patients with advanced heart failure can use Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) to improve the quality of life and the rate of survival. However, the device thrombosis is responsible for serious complications and cause hospital return of patients. These complications may be result in surgical operation to change device and anticoagulant drugs are an alternative, but only inhibits thrombus formation and isn't a permanent solution. The levels of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) should be monitored because interaction is intensive. Even if clinical features related to these complications are identified, patients can die when the diagnosis is delayed. The use of vibration analysis technique associated with clinical indicators has showed advanced results. This work proposes a supervisory control system to improve the resilience of the VAD through the development of a monitoring process to control the evolution of device and cannulas thrombosis. The objective is obtaining information in real time based on the system model and interactions of the specialist physician to promote control actions based on the clinical diagnosis. (AU)
