Resumo

We investigate the existence of free actions of S1 on Dold and Wall manifolds. Precisely, we show that Dold manifolds of type P(m, odd) admit free actions of S1 whereas Wall manifolds Q(m, n) do not admit any free action of S1. We also compute the mod 2 cohomology algebra of the corresponding orbit spaces P(m, n)/S1.(c) 2023 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved. (AU)
