Resumo

Aircraft production has unique challenges due to low-volume batches and high product variability, which demands dynamic, adaptable automation solutions that can seamlessly navigate the intricacies of aircraft assembly. Its large structures require precision, often with cumbersome and costly robotic manipulators. Emerging technologies offer innovative solutions, including robotics, computer vision, image processing, and interaction control. This paper investigates the integration of LiDAR technology in the aeronautical industry, emphasizing its pivotal role in real-time environmental modeling to reduce costs in high-value aerospace manufacturing. It addresses the manufacturing complexities, including collision prevention and contact handling, and suggests innovative strategies to improve efficiency. Additionally, it explores how this technology can streamline programming in pre-programmed operations, revolutionizing production processes. (AU)
