Resumo
Esta proposta SPRINT tem como objetivo estabelecer a colaboração entre os grupos de pesquisa da UNC Charlotte (Reitzel, caracterização de toxinas de Cnidaria e comparação de transcriptomas) para obter dados preliminares e desenvolver uma proposta em conjunto para a National Science Foundation para determinar a evolução e a expressão dos genes das toxinas em duas espécies de anêmonas de tubo (Cnidaria, Anthozoa, Ceriantharia) endêmicas do Brasil. Os resultados obtidos através do projeto proposto irão propiciar a descrição do primeiro transcriptoma anotado para as espécies deste grupo de Anthozoa e a primeira abordagem sobre o papel ambiental da expressão destes genes críticos. Essa proposta colaborativa será submetida para a Division of Ocean Sciences ou para a Division of Environmental Biology's Dimensions of Biodiversity of the National Science Foundation. As duas divisões da NSF são apoiadoras de pesquisas colaborativas internacionais. (AU)
