Bachelor's degree in Physical Education from the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1995), earned a Master's degree in Biological Sciences (Physiology) from the State University of Campinas (1998), and a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (Physiology) from the State University of Campinas (2003), with sandwich period at the University of Copenhagen - Muscle Research Center - August Krogh Institute (2001-2002) in Denmark. Postdoctoral researcher (2003-2007) in Physiology and Biophysics at the University of São Paulo, Biomedical Sciences Institute, with a sandwich period at the August Krogh Institute (2004). Currently, works as a full professor at the State University of Campinas (Brazil), investigating the molecular control of muscle metabolism. Has expertise in Physiology and Biochemistry, with a focus on Exercise Physiology and Biochemistry, mainly working on the following topics: muscle metabolism, mitochondria, and gene expression.
