GMTO Corporation

Since December 5, 2014, FAPESP integrates an agreement with GMTO Corporation, a non-stock corporation from the United States. Arizona Board of Regents (on behalf of the University of Arizona), Astronomy Australia Limited, Australian National University, Carnegie Institution of Washington, Harvard University, Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, Texas A&M University, University of Chicago, and University of Texas at Austin also integrate the agreement. The document amends a prior agreement, from March 20, 2009, reflecting the admission of new partners, among other issues. One of the missions of GMTO Corporation is to administer the planning, design, construction, and operation of the Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT), in Chile’s Atacama Desert.
