Abstract

Although there is a growing recognition of the importance of dissemination and implementation research to improve the health and well-being of populations, significant evidence gaps, issues and challenges still remain. These gaps include a lack of research and case studies of effective implementation and evidence-base from low and middle-income countries, major methodological and measurement challenges and a lack of research about how to translate evidence into policy and practice, effectively. With this in mind, the Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD) and the São Paolo Research Foundation (FAPESP), in collaboration with the São Paulo School of Advanced Science (SPSAS) and the WHO Collaborating Centre on Implementation Research for the Prevention & Control of NCDsare co-hosting an implementation science school to be held at UNICAMP. The school will be conducted from 6 - 10 November 2018. The faculty will be comprised of leading researchers from around the world in the field of implementation research, as well as senior policy- and decision- makers from policy, practice and research organisations.
