Abstract
The aim of this study is to evaluate sperm quality throughout collections, condensation and quality of chromatin packaging of sperm from Bos indicus bulls, taking into consideration their age and genomic merit. A total of 53 animals, ages varying between 18 and 33 months old, kept in a property located in Uberaba, MG, will be selected due to their superior genomic. The ejaculates collected thru electroejaculation will be frozen (-1960C) in natura. The thawed semen samples will be evaluated with toluidine blue, for chromatin condensation and sperm head morphometry assessment, chromomicin A3 (CMA3) to analyze protamination and use of anti-histone H3 antibody (AB 1791) to detect the presence of histone 3. Numerical data will be submitted to analysis of variance and means compared by Tukey test. (AU)
