Abstract

It is known that Information and Communication Technologies are indispensable in organizations, but they are not immune to criticism about their effects related to the use of these resources among employees. The attractiveness and diversity of applications of these information technologies for individual use may cause negative impacts to its users: the compulsive use of these resources. In this context, this study aims to investigate if technostress may be influenced by different organizational actors, such as leaders for example. Therefore, the present research project aims to broaden the knowledge about the use of Information Technology as a potential for adverse effects in the daily life of professionals in their workplaces. The methodology has a quantitative approach. Users of information and communication technologies will be interviewed, which collected data will be analyzed by multivariate data techniques using structural equation modeling. This research project will produce two papers. The first paper will evaluate different types of leadership styles towards to the technostress at work. The second article has the purpose to analyze coping strategies towards to the perceived technostress by professionals. (AU)
