Abstract
A proposal to expand the activities and the role of the São Paulo Research and Analysis Center (SPRACE) in the field of detector electronics is presented. The plan of activities focuses on the phase-2 upgrade of the CMS detector at CERN in preparation for the operation at the High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC), and involves the development and testing of high performance FPGA hardware and firmware, and the acquisition of expertise with cutting edge technology standards such as MicroTCA and ATCA.
