Forage plants and nitrogen in the succession soybean - out-of-season corn for the development of sustainable food systems

Abstract

The succession of soybean - out-of-season corn crops under no-tillage system has prioritized grain production, but the lack of diversification of this activity has promoted a reduction in its productivity. The aim of this study will be to evaluate the influence of forage plants and nitrogen in the succession soybean - out-of-season corn under no - tillage system in order to develop sustainable food systems through the efficient use of the crops and of the nitrogen to production of silage and grains. The experimental design will be a randomized block with four replications in a subdivided plot scheme. The main plots will consist of the treatments: 1) soybean (single) and out-of-season corn (single); 2) soybean + congo grass and out-of-season corn + congo grass and 3) soybean + aruana grass and out-of-season corn + aruana grass. The subplots will consist of the nitrogen rates 0; 50; 100 and 150 kg ha-1 applied in sidedressing in the lines of out-of-season corn and forage plants. The following parameters will be evaluated: a) nitrogen diagnosis; b) SPAD value; c) dry mass; d) macronutrients concentration in plants; e) weeds; f) agronomic parameters of the out-of-season corn and of the soybean; g) chemical composition, digestibility and fermentative parameters of the silage; h) out-of-season corn yield; i) nitrogen levels in soil and j) chemical and biological attributes of the soil. The main effects and interactions will be studied. Significant interactions will be deployed according to the factors involved. The means of the main effects of cultivation will be compared by the Tukey test and for the effect of the nitrogen doses will be performed regression analysis. (AU)
