Abstract
The aim of the experiences uploaded at the Experimental Mechanics with Images site (Mecânica Experimental com Imagens - MEXI, in portuguese) is to empower the teacher action in class, adding an experimental perspective to the learning of abstract concepts. For this, we recorded real arrangements where the body in motion is next to an instrument that allows the measurement of its position. Subsequently, we extracted independent frames from the video and incorporated a time code into the images, hence the position of the body at successive and known instants of time can be measured. With the position and time table, all the dynamic evolution of the system can be determined. We already have experiments that deals with movements of translation and rotation, available on the web page www.fisfoto.if.usp.br, most already used in introductory and advanced disciplines of Mechanics in the Degree in Physics of the Institute of Physics of the University of São Paulo, as well as refresher courses and congress workshops. We propose to research new themes and include experiences related to contents not yet explored as: relative motion; arrangements that accelerate more or less than gravity, even if the body was abandoned to the action of gravity; the invariance of the acceleration when measured in different inertial frames-of-reference; re-examine experiences that are already part of the page, but could become more interesting. In addition, we intend to verify the feasibility of including, in the experimental arrangements, strain gauges with monitors visible within the frame of the film, that could add a measure of force to those of position and time in the images, giving more data to analyse, which could enlarge the set of intriguing phenomena to investigate. We intend to generate English and Spanish versions of the web page, in order to increase its visibility, and create a more modern page, adapting it to the web trends. (AU)
