Abstract
This research will tell the story of the importance of Ana Maria Amaral, the responsible for the process of professionalization and ripening of the animated forms theater in Brazil, a terminology created by her in the eighties, in the theater context and also in the academic research in this area. It's also very important for this research to tell about her fight to create, in higher education in the Performaning Arts Department of ECA-USP, a subject that worked with the inanimate and how it reverberated in other Brazilian universities. So, in order to tell this story, in the first moment, this research will be developed departing from documentation and cataloguing of her personal collection, - the material made for the shows: puppets, objects, photos, videos, publications in newspapers and magazines, as well as thematic materials acquired in many places around the world; in the second moment, in order to elaborate a reflection about her artistic and academic production, a review of the four shows staged by her (A benfazeja; O Zé da Vaca; Dicotomias - Fragmentos Skizofr) will be done.
