Abstract

Within the scope of the University Hospital, research projects are carried out related to the graduate and undergraduate (iniciação científica) programs of the units and USP, besides research projects carried out by faculty members of the Units and also by researchers from the staff of the Hospital itself, which has a clinical research center. In order to improve the research activities, HU has developed an application for data extraction. Utilizing the contingent of more than 1.4 million patients attended, this tool has enabled the development of several research projects carried out in the hospital. In order to encourage new areas of research in the HU / USP environment, the scientific cooperation agreement was firmed to incorporated ithe Acquisition and Image Transmission Program (PAC) system in order to implement the Multiprofessional Cancer Detection Center at the University Hospital. The inclusion of the scanned images demands an increase in the storage capacity of the HU patient database, as well as additional space for the new applications and software used. The present project proposes the acquisition of the necessary equipment for the expansion of the research activities in the hospital. (AU)
