Abstract

At IPEN data center there are network servers that store data from different research centers and their processing capacity is being expanded to accommodate a Nuclear Engineering Center cluster and a dedicated Research Reactor Center network server. In addition to the IPEN centers, the data center accommodates two servers of the Brazilian Multipurpose Reactor - RMB project that is accessed remotely by its researchers. In order to meet current demand and forecast future demand, it is necessary to improve and standardize the Centers' network connection and switches, as well as enabling the use of Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology to connect more modern network devices, used in laboratories, which depend on it to function.
