Abstract
The purpose of this research project is to build portable inspection equipment based on electrochemical microcell technology, called PassivityScan, to provide industrial asset inspection services that operate in aseptic and / or corrosive processes and are therefore constructed. in stainless steel. The methodology consists of constructing different arrangements according to the weld position, called inspection module, in order to enable the inspection equipment to perform electrochemical tests in any necessary coupling position in the tank. The productivity of Passivityscan will be significantly higher compared to the prototype developed in phase 1, as it is necessary to inspect a large number of regions within a short time when the equipment will be available. The productivity rate will be increased by 20x when compared to the prototype developed in phase 1. For this, conceptual engineering considered the use of a multichannel potentiostat that operates cells independently and in parallel, which is responsible for 80% of the measurements. Another multichannel potentiostat that operates cells independently and sequentially (however has small size, weight and connects via bluetooth) has been selected for inspection in complex positions and arrangements (horizontal position, tank nozzles etc.). Inspection modules are expected to integrate all components of the assembly for high productivity. A documented procedure defining methods and criteria for the welding procedure qualification (WPS) specifications using electrochemical microcells will be elaborated. The high amount of electrochemical measures will be treated to become managerial information to support decision making by engineering and maintenance managers. The commercialization of the project will take place by providing inspection services of equipment / industrial utilities in the manufacturing, assembly or maintenance phases; qualification, validation and monitoring of equipment; periodic inspection and fault analysis. The target audience is wide and international, and the commercialization plan presents systematic for prospecting contracts in Brazil and abroad. (AU)
