Abstract

The Patient Diagnosed As Having "Poorly Differentiated Lung Cancer" Represents A Major Challenge. More Widespread Acceptance And Use Of The Existing WHO And Kreyberg Classification Systems Could Eliminate Some Of The Uncertainly Associated With This Diagnostic Category. Although Experienced Pulmonary Pathologists Can Accurately Classify The Majority Of Lung Cancers By Light Microscopy, Significant Potential Exists In The Application Of Newer Technologies Such As Molecular Biology And Immunology Into The Future Classification Of These Neoplasms. So, The Present Study Propose Experiments Which Aim To Obtain Information About The Relation Between Morphologic Markers And Lung Cancer Behaviour. To This Purpose, Morphometrical, Histochemical And Imunohistochemical Techniques Will Be Apllied In The Context Of All Histologic Types Of Lung Cancer, Establishing A Whole Of Studies That Intend: 1- To Construct Statistical Models Which Intend To Explore The Relation Between Survival And Lung Cancer; 2- To Study The Possible Relação Between Lung Cancer And Morphologic Indicators Of Prognosis In The Several Histogical Types; 3- To Evaluate The Role Of Complemental Techniques As Histochemistry And Immunohistochemistry In The Evaluation Of Survival In Patients With Lung Cancer.
