Laboratory detection of SARS-CoV-2 variants

Abstract

This work plan presents the proposal to create conditions for the detection analysis of SARS-CoV-2 variants, in view of the worsening Pandemic COVID-19. This identification will be carried out by the Genomic Surveillance Network (Vigenomics) at UNESP and the executing laboratory is the Biology Laboratory Molecular structure, existing in the Hospital das Clínicas complex of the Faculty of Medicine of Botucatu and Botucatu School of Medicine, UNESP. The execution of this plan will allow: 1. Identification of emerging variants and new variants of SARS-Circulating CoV-2; 2. Analysis of epidemiological-molecular surveillance in the region, using phylogenetic and molecular evolution analyzes; 3. Assessment of dispersion spatial analysis of variants in the State using the Radar Covid-19 Unesp; 4. Driving machine learning analysis to search for patterns between clinical data and laboratory tests. The decision to invest in this action was submitted to the Research Committee FMB and later to the FMB Congregation, on 03/19/2021, being approved. This plan was developed in conjunction with the Biology Laboratory team Molecular Research at FMB, with the participation of several professionals in a inter-unit action, under the coordination of Profa. Rejane Grotto. (AU)
