Abstract

Many thrilling aspects of Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) can be probed in the laboratory in experiments involving heavy ion collisions. In particular, this kind of experiment aims to reproduce some of the features of the matter generated instants after the Big Bang: the quark-gluon plasma (QGP). In addition to the high temperature and eventual chemical potential, a huge magnetic field is produced during peripheral collisions. In this work we propose to investigate how the magnetic field affect an important quantity in this scenario: the melting of charmonia, considered to be one of the main observables of the QGP. (AU)
