Abstract
Our long-term goal is to make significant contributions to the advancement of methodologies used to produce clean energy and achieve carbon neutrality in the Oil&Gas industry. The specific objective of this SPRINT proposal is to seed new research projects to explore new technologies and infrastructure in deep-water offshore environments currently in place in Brazil and the US to achieve this long-term goal. Our technical approach is in the integration of data, models and processes for obtaining optimized production strategies in hydrocarbon exploration. Our main contributions derive from innovations in (1) monitoring of ocean environments using real-time data acquired through buoyance devices and underwater autonomous vehicles; (2) modeling and simulation of subsurface flows; (3) system optimization for CCUS and H2 storage; and (4) rapid reservoir characterization using artificial intelligence.
