Abstract
Since technology constantly transforms the perception of what would be the new activities, which are now more complex and abstract, it is a fact that access to technologies has altered social relations, economic life, and the cultural environment in which we live. In education, for example, there have been changes in the perception of how students consume instructional content since teaching has increasingly focused on how they study. This fact implies rethinking how to create these contents and directly affects teachers, both in their teaching roles and in their work relationships. This Research and Development (R&D) project refers to the development of a web system in which the teacher will be able to idealize, plan, create, manage and market their online courses, in a very intuitive, integrated, and hassle-free way. For the student, the value proposition focuses on offering educational quality mediated by a methodology that privileges direct contact with the teacher and offers practical experiences through projects and concrete activities aimed at professional qualification. For this project, agile development management (Scrum) was chosen. Based on design principles and user experience (UX), we adopt the premise that the design of software aimed at education has specificities that differentiate it from others. In this way, we consider the union between some of the concepts and methods of software engineering with the theories, guidelines, and references of education. We also consider the effective participation of professors, students, and other stakeholders in the software development process, in order to create an environment rich in knowledge, experiences, and feedback from the use of the system by the user. In this way, the research will start from high-level system requirements, in a process in which the characteristics and specific requirements will be defined, designed, and developed by end-users, students, and teachers, together with the R&D team, during the process of developing the project. The system resulting from this research aims to become a tool that allows teachers to explore their potential with teaching freedom and total autonomy, in an unmediated way, without the need for links with Higher Education Institutions. As a company, we believe that by offering a stimulating creation and selling environment to the teacher, we will also generate better learning experiences for the student, stimulating curiosity and the creation of new knowledge. And, since our business model is based on a two-sided platform, with a potential cross-network effect, we believe that the company's strategic focus should be to stimulate the production and offer of qualified educational content (produced by masters and doctors, following minimum quality requirements stipulated by the company) on a large scale, which, in turn, has a great capacity to attract students who seek to qualify through online courses.
