Abstract

Summary: The total value of the R.T.I. -FAPESP is BRL 742,375.55. In years prior to R.T.I. <ç<÷FAPESP destined for the IAG was essentially used to provide the Institute with a Center forData Processing (CPD) compatible with your research needs. For such,the CPD of the Department of Astronomy was reformed, which became the Data Centerof IAG, enabling it to absorb new clusters and the more powerful machines that weredistributed in the three Departments. Furthermore, one of the R.T.I.s was earmarked for the purchase of anew supercomputer, worth R$ 1.3 million, to be installed in the new CPD. Due tothis prioritization, essential research expenditures in other areas were postponed. Thus,this RTI will be destined largely to meet these dammed demands. Alsoan item was included in this RTI for the dissemination of scientific works, aimed at projectsfunded by FAPESP, which is an old demand from our Research Commission. (AU)
