Abstract

Manipulating the properties of matter is fundamental for the devices to function. In this project, we use light signals to switch the magnetic state of matter between the disordered state and the ferromagnetic state. In turn, the switching of the magnetic state in the semiconductor, if it is in contact with a superconductor, canlead to the switching of the superconductor to the normal state. The research will answer fundamental open questions about the mechanisms involved in this process, as well as research the feasibility of new functionalities with potential applications. (AU)
