Abstract

This is a program for training human resources in the area of engineering for trained people to work in automation, control, and instrumentation applied to oil, gas, biofuels, and other renewable energy sources. The program includes undergraduate and graduate students (master's, doctorate, and post-doctorate) and professors from different departments at UFSC. The program resources are divided into scholarships and research allowances, which aim to support the activities of the scholarship holders. Although there are isolated cooperation initiatives between companies and universities for research activities in the program area, there is a lack of qualified labor in Brazil to satisfactorily develop the digitalization process of the oil, gas, biofuels, and renewable energy industries. The training program seeks to bring together the essential elements so that its graduates have knowledge of the areas necessary for digitalization processes to be developed in Brazil. (AU)
