PRH18.1 - Ocean Systems and Subsea Technology for Oil and Gas Exploitation and Renewable Energy

Abstract

This project has the involvement of the Department of Naval and Oceanic Engineering (DENO) and the Oceanic Engineering Program (PEnO) of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) to train high-quality human resources to work in the areas of Engineering. Naval and Oceanic, with research and technologies applied in various segments of the maritime industry, with emphasis on the exploration and production (E&P) sector of offshore oil and gas and renewable energies at sea. The research carried out in undergraduate and master's dissertations, and doctoral theses uses experimental techniques, numerical and analytical modeling to produce innovative solutions to challenges posed by the industry. The courses and research are aimed at solving problems related to renewable energy at sea, energy efficiency, submarine technology, water transport, as well as structures, design, construction, repair and hydrodynamics of ships and offshore platforms.
