Abstract

The Engineering Program with an Emphasis on Petroleum at the Polytechnic School of USP (PRH06.1) was selected under the PRH-ANP to grant scholarships and research funding to students selected in the program. The financial resources come from the contributions of private resources from oil companies that are signatories of contracts for the exploration, development, and production of oil and/or natural gas, according to the Research, Development, and Innovation Clauses (R, D & I Clauses). The contribution of these resources provides educational benefits to society, promoting the training and qualification of future professionals. This program includes the following regular Undergraduate and Graduate courses offered by the Polytechnic School of USP: Naval and Ocean Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (Mechatronics), Mineral Engineering (Petroleum), Metallurgical Engineering (Materials), and Chemical Engineering.PRH06.1 aims to be broad and multidisciplinary, focusing on benefiting its students and the industries in the petroleum, natural gas, and biofuel sectors. The studies, research, and work developed by the students in the various departments of the Polytechnic School of USP cover important parts of the oil production chain, from well study to transportation and operation logistics, including offshore structures and their reliability and risk analysis. The program's emphases are in the sectors of exploration, development and production; transportation, refining, and natural gas processing; digital technologies, automation, and control; energy efficiency; subsea systems; and low-carbon economy.
