Abstract

The IG/UFRGS Petroleum Geology Program, developed in partnership with the National Petroleum Agency (UFRGS/ANP-PRH14.1 Agreement), aims to train qualified professionals to work in the new scenario of oil exploration in Brazil .The program involves activities at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, offering the opportunity to develop activities within specific research projects in the areas of stratigraphy and basin analysis, geochronology, stratigraphic and diagenetic characterization of reservoirs and organic petrology.The course offers full scholarships at all levels and a complete infrastructure (up-to-date sector library with a wide collection, geochemical, organochemical, palynological, micropaleontological analysis laboratories, microprobe, spectrometer, in addition to computational resources, fleet of vehicles for field work).The teaching staff is made up entirely of doctors, with recognized experience in the country and abroad, many of whom are CNPq researchers and coordinators of research projects in cooperation with the productive sector and research institutions in Brazil and abroad.
