Abstract

The Petroleum Chemistry course, and the Postgraduate Programs in Chemistry and Materials Sciences have professors working in the areas of Biofuels, Energy from Renewable Sources and the Environment, who, through the Resource Training programs ANP Human Resources, has the necessary incentive to expand its study on biomass that can be produced in the semi-arid region, such as microalgae, oilseeds (sunflower, moringa, oiticica, safflower, babassu, among others) and agricultural waste.Biofuels specialists trained by the Human Resources Training Program in Biofuels will be able to face the national and international challenges inherent in replacing fuels and other products obtained from fossil sources with similar compounds originating from biomass, both in production and transport. and quality of these products.
