Abstract

The project "Uncovering Water Relations to Maximize Forest Productivity" by the company Multi Pro Agroflorestal's main objective is to use detailed analyzes of water relations in eucalyptus genotypes to optimize forest productivity. The company, led by PhD in Forestry Science Jhuan Lucas, focuses on characterizing the hydraulic functioning of plants, including leaf parameters and water potential, using advanced pneumatic methods. The proposed platform integrates hydraulic performance data with productivity information, such as height, diameter, biomass and wood density. This innovative approach will enable accurate classification of genotypes in terms of drought resistance and other relevant metrics, providing forest managers with a powerful tool for making informed and strategic decisions.By unraveling and understanding water relationships in eucalyptus plants, Multi Pro Agroflorestal aims to not only pursue its passion for forestry science, but also contribute significantly to addressing current and future challenges in the forestry sector, amidst climate change and extreme events. . The project represents a significant advance in the search for more sustainable and resilient forestry production. (AU)
